Nermin Crnkic passes away at 30

Grand Rapids, MI -- Nermin Crnkic, a 30-year-old Bosnian soccer player who had previously played for Tuzla City and most recently Rapid City Football Club has passed away.

He was found unresponsive in his apartment with his reported cause of death being a heart attack.

The Club President, Louis Stephens III spoke on his passing: "I just spoke with him on Thursday, as we were preparing for training camp in Cincinnati for the World MiniFootball World Cup in late October. He was an amazing person on and off the field and I will always remember his smile and tenacious competitive spirit. You will be missed #10".

He led the Rapid City Football Club in overall goals and points during their inaugural championship season in Major League Indoor Soccer. He was named on the All-Eastern Division Team, as well as the team's Offensive Player of the Year.

Rapid City FC will honor Nermin during the 2023-24 season. More details will be announced shortly.

Funeral arrangements will be released by his family at a later date.
